yogi cabinet expansion: UP cabinet expansion: CM Yogi left other parties behind on brahmin-dalit equation
- Yogi’s master stroke, simple caste maths in cabinet expansion
- Cabinet expansion done keeping in mind the UP elections 2022
- One Brahmin, three OBC, three SC-ST among the new ministers
A few months before the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government’s cabinet was expanded on Sunday. The new ministers were administered the oath at the Raj Bhavan. Seven ministers including Jitin Prasada took oath. Seeing this cabinet expansion, it can be clearly said that along with the castes, every effort has been made to reach out to the areas. Through this, CM Yogi Adityanath has presented the election roadmap. Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath to the new ministers.
Among the new ministers, upper castes, OBCs and AC-STs are all represented. The special thing here is that the areas have also been carefully selected in the selection of ministers. Efforts have been made to cover every corner of the state. There is no surprise among the new faces included in Yogi’s cabinet. All those who took oath on Sunday were already discussed.
Faces involved in UP cabinet expansion
|Jitin Prasad||Shahjahanpur||brahmin – savarna|
|Sangeeta Balwant Bind||Ghazipur||Sailor – OBC|
|Dharamveer Prajapati||Agra||Potter – OBC|
|Chhatrapal Gangwar||Bareilly||Kurmi – OBC|
|Dinesh Khatik||Meerut||Dalit – Khatik|
|Sanjay Gond||sonbhadra||ST – ST|
Before the expansion of the cabinet, there were 53 ministers in the Yogi cabinet. Of these, 23 were cabinet ministers. 9 had an independent charge. There were 21 ministers of state. Now seven more ministers have joined it. The cabinet expansion indicates that the BJP does not want to leave any front before the elections. CM Yogi has included everyone in his election strategy. Brahmins, Dalits and OBCs have all been educated.
Of the seven new ministers, three come from the SC/ST community. That is, they have got about 50 percent representation in the new ministers. Only three belong to the Other Backward Classes. A Brahmin face is included in the form of Jitin Prasada. In this way, no class has been left out. This is a big blow to the political rivals of the BJP. This cabinet expansion has been done keeping in view the electoral arithmetic. Through this, an attempt has also been made to send a message that BJP will not do politics of appeasement of any one or two classes or communities. Her vision is broad and she will enter the electoral fray with this.
The inclusion of Jitin Prasada in the cabinet expansion was almost certain. Through this BJP will try to woo Brahmin voters. Jitin had recently joined the BJP, breaking the old ties with the Congress. He was the Minister of State for Steel in the UPA government. He has inherited politics. He first won the election from Shahjahanpur.
Here, apart from the castes, the other thing to note is the areas of the ministers. With great tact, almost every corner of the state has been covered. Every front of the state has been cordoned off from Meerut to Ghazipur and from Agra to Balrampur. In this way, Yogi has also revealed his roadmap for the next elections. This indicates that no area of the state is going to remain untouched. BJP is about to enter the electoral fray with full gusto.
This cabinet expansion will certainly create uneasiness among the opponents. The reason is that most of the focus is on one or two classes or communities right now. She wants to spoil the electoral maths of the BJP because of them. The BJP has made such a move that the opponents will have to rethink their strategy.
