Expenditure of Rs 28,000 crore
The bridge is also part of the USBRL project connecting the country from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. An expenditure of Rs 1,400 crore has been incurred for this and Rs 28,000 crore will be spent for the complete railway line.
According to Sanjay Gupta, CMD, Konkan Railway Corporation Limited, the line will run through the most remote areas of the Shivalik Range in the Himalayas and the Pir Panjal Range in the Central Himalayas. The 272 km long railway line project has 28 tunnels and 97 bridges.
