women’s t20 rankings: shefali retains first place in t20 women’s ranking, first scottish player in top 10
Indian young batsman Shefali Verma has topped the ICC (International Cricket Council) latest T20 women’s rankings released on Tuesday while Katherine Bryce became the first woman cricketer from Scotland to break into the top-10.
Shefali has 776 rating points to her name, which is much higher than Australia’s Beth Mooney (744) and Meg Lanning (709). India’s T20 vice-captain Smriti Mandhana is at the fourth spot while Jemimah Rodrigues is the third Indian batsman in the top 10 to finish ninth.
The highlight of this ranking is Scotland’s all-rounder Catherine. She was her team’s top scorer in the four-match T20I series against Ireland. Scotland, however, lost the series 1-3.
In the bowlers’ list, there are two Indian bowlers in the top ten. Off-spinner Deepti Sharma is sixth and left-arm spinner Radha Yadav is at seventh. Deepti has 705 while Radha has 702 rating points. England’s left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone tops the bowlers’ list.
