warehouse authority cuts registration fee of fpo and pac

New Delhi, Nov 21 (PTI) The Warehouse Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA) has reduced the registration fee for Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACs) and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to Rs 500. .

The authority’s head Harpreet Singh said on Sunday that the reason for deducting the registration fee of these producer organizations is that they have a natural advantage in providing storage facilities near the fields.

Singh said in a statement, “It is informed that the registration fee for FPOs, PACs and SHGs has been substantially reduced to Rs 500. While for other conventional godowns, the fee ranges from Rs 5,000 to Rs 30,000. “

PACs and FPOs can take over the unused godowns in their locality and upgrade them to WDRA standards in case they do not have their own godowns. This will benefit their member farmers.
