‘The data entry operator was not aware of it’
Dr. Anand Shukla, Medical Superintendent of Raipur CCC, said that the data entry operator was not aware of it and the officials concerned were on leave, so there was a delay in releasing the death toll. He told, ‘We are manually sending data related to death and treatment to the district administration manually. We just could not upload its information on the portal. ‘
‘Pressure put on recruiting serious patients’
A senior CCC officer said that between April 25 and May 15, the center was flooded with patients even though there is no critical care facility. Despite this, many serious cases had to be admitted due to which the death toll increased. “From administrative officials to ministers, we had to face pressure from all sides to recruit serious patients while the center does not have ICU beds,” he said.
