Uttar Pradesh Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reform (ADR) has released a detailed report of the sitting 396 MLAs of the country’s largest Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly with 403 MLAs. According to this report, out of 396 MLAs, 140 i.e. 35 percent MLAs have criminal cases registered against them, out of which 27 percent i.e. 106 MLAs have cases registered against them in serious sections. According to the report, there are 7 such MLAs, against whom cases of murder i.e. Section 302 of IPC are registered. At the same time, a case has been registered against 2 MLAs for female crime and 36 MLAs for attempt to murder.
Most MLAs with criminal tendencies in BJP
According to the ADR report, the highest number of 106 (35%) MLAs of the Bharatiya Janata Party with 304 MLAs have criminal cases, out of which 77 MLAs are facing serious charges. At the same time, 18 of the 49 MLAs of the Samajwadi Party have criminal cases, out of which 15 MLAs are facing serious sections of the IPC. Similarly, out of the total 16 MLAs of BSP, 5 MLAs are criminal, out of which 4 have serious cases registered against them. A Congress MLA with 7 MLAs has been booked under serious sections.
Small parties also like to support the tainted
At the same time, Apna Dal SK is a total of 9 MLAs, out of which 4 are criminal, out of which 3 MLAs have been booked under serious sections. Cases are registered against two MLAs of Subhaspa with 4 MLAs under serious sections of IPC. Three MLAs of IND Party and one MLA of Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal have been booked under serious sections.
