New Delhi: A clash between security forces and Naxals in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh yesterday left 20 soldiers dead and the country was shaken once again. On Saturday, Naxals launched a surprise attack on security guards. It was said that 20 security personnel were killed in the clash which lasted for three hours. Reacting to this incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the sacrifices of the soldiers would not be allowed to go in vain.
He also decided to cancel his Assam tour due to this incident. Home Minister arrives in Delhi Meanwhile, it is said that 20 to 22 jawans were martyred in the attack and the search for the jawans is still on. It is learned that the Naxals also snatched their weapons after attacking the jawans. Hidma, the largest battalion of Naxals, is said to be the mastermind behind the attack. Seeing the seriousness of the attack, protesting the attackers, Amit Shah canceled his visit to Assam on the backdrop of elections.
Meanwhile, Amit Shah on Sunday discussed the attack with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Chief Minister Baghel briefed the Union Home Minister about the attack.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief
After getting information about this incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow over it and said that the sacrifices of these soldiers will not be in vain. “My condolences are with the families of the soldiers who were martyred in the fight against the Maoists. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten,” he said in a message on social media.
