umpire michael gow: umpire michael gow removed from t20 world cup

Dubai
England umpire Michael Gough was on Wednesday dropped by the International Cricket Council (ICC) from the ongoing T20 World Cup after he violated the biologically safe environment of the tournament a few days ago.

On Friday last week, the 41-year-old umpire left the hotel without approval and met individuals outside the biologically safe environment of the tournament, following which he was placed on six-day isolation.

It would be great to work with Rahul Dravid, what Rohit Sharma said on Mr Dependable becoming head coach
“Umpire Michael Gough will not be appointed for the remainder of the ICC Men’s T20 2021 for the duration of the remaining matches of the ICC Men’s T20 2021 for violation of the Biologically Safe Environment regulations,” the ICC said in a statement.

Gow was supposed to play the official role in the match between India and New Zealand in Dubai on Sunday last week but was dropped after a breach of rules and was replaced by Marais Erasmus of South Africa.

The former Durham batsman is considered one of the best umpires in international cricket right now. He was tested every single day except during the quarantine.
