In MP (Madhya Pradesh News Update) CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Energy Minister RK Singh have laid the foundation stone of many solar projects. On this occasion, CM Shivraj said that MP is moving fast towards PM Modi’s target of supplying 50 percent of the country’s energy requirement with solar energy by 2030. Every effort is being made in the state to achieve this target within the stipulated limit. More than 5300 MW of solar power is being produced in the state every day. Solar energy is also being given special emphasis from the point of view of environmental protection.
He said that PM Modi has provided electricity to every poor hut. MP today is self-sufficient in power generation. The state is producing 22,000 MW of electricity per day. The state government is generating electricity by all means of water, coal, wind and sun.
Foundation stone of solar plants laid at these places
Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Energy Minister RK Singh performed Bhoomi-Poojan on Thursday by signing MoUs of 1500 MW capacity solar power parks of Agar, Shajapur and Neemuch at Shajapur costing Rs 5250 crore. He also signed contracts for Pradhan Mantri ‘Kusum-A’ scheme with private investors. CM Chouhan launched the energy literacy campaign ‘Usha’, which is being run for the purpose of public awareness in the field of energy.
Union Energy Minister RK Singh said that the government has provided electricity to every village and every household. If any house is missed, then tell it, electricity will be delivered there too. The government has made one lakh 59 thousand kilometers of electricity grid and has provided electricity to every household till Leh, Ladakh. Today we have the capacity to transfer one lakh 12 thousand MW electricity per day.
Solar energy will get cheap electricity
He said that work is being done at a fast pace to provide clean and cheap electricity through solar energy in the country. Exemplary work is being done in this area in Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a leading state in the country in solar power generation. Singh informed that the scheme of providing free ration to the poor till November by the Government of India has now been extended till March 31, 2022.
CM Shivraj Singh Chouha said that electricity is being provided to the poor in the state at the rate of Rs 100 per month. The government is giving a grant of Rs 21 thousand crore every year on electricity bills. Along with this, he said that it is a matter of great happiness that in the last five years, the number of daughters in Madhya Pradesh has increased from 905 to 956 per thousand. For the welfare of daughters in the state, many schemes are being run for their educational, health and economic development including Ladli Laxmi Yojana.

Power generation from the project will start in March 2023.
Giving information, MP Energy Minister Hardeep Singh Dung said that in these 500 MW solar projects, 2 units of 550 MW (350 + 200) in Agar district, 3 units of 450 MW (105 + 220 + 125) in Shajapur district. And 3 units (170+160+170 MW) of 500 MW capacity will be set up in Neemuch district. Power generation from the projects will start in March 2023.
