Terrorists’ safe haven, where they have got free pass…India slams Pakistan on terrorism in UN
United NationsIndia slammed Pakistan at the UN Security Council, saying terrorists there enjoy “free passes” and the country has an established history of supporting them. India said that Pakistan also has an outrageous record of harboring the largest number of banned terrorists by the United Nations Security Council. ‘Free pass’ means that terrorists have got freedom to move freely in the country. Kajal Bhat, Adviser to India’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, told the UN Security Council on Tuesday, “I am compelled to use the forum once again to respond to some frivolous remarks made by the representative of Pakistan today.” He said, “This is not the first time that Pakistan has used the forum given by the United Nations to spread false and malicious propaganda against my country and try to divert the attention of the world from the sad state of its country.” Where terrorists enjoy ‘free passes’, while the lives of common people, especially those from minority communities, are difficult. India’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador R Ravindra had earlier represented the country in an open discussion organized by the United Nations Security Council on the subject of ‘maintaining international peace and security through preventive diplomacy’. Bhat once again addressed the forum on behalf of India after Pakistan’s Ambassador Munir Akram raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir during an open discussion at the United Nations. “India wants normal neighborly relations with all countries including Pakistan and outstanding issues, if any, will be settled bilaterally and peacefully as per the Simla Agreement and the Lahore Declaration,” Bhat said. Any meaningful dialogue can take place only in an environment free from terrorism, hostility and violence. It is the responsibility of Pakistan to create such a conducive environment. Till then, India will continue to take decisive and resolute steps in response to cross-border terrorism. Bhat, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir, said the UN member states are aware that Pakistan has an “established history and policy” of harboring, aiding and actively supporting terrorists. “It is a country that is globally recognized as a world leader in openly supporting, training, funding and providing weapons to terrorists,” he said. He also has the outrageous record of harboring the largest number of terrorists banned by the United Nations Security Council. Bhat said that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were an integral and inseparable part of India, are… and always will be. ‘This also includes the areas which are under illegal occupation of Pakistan.’ India also asked Pakistan to immediately vacate all illegally occupied areas.
