Sushant Singh Rajput Chhichhore won best Hindi Film award in 67th National Film Awards
New Delhi: The 67th National Film Awards were announced. The film ‘Chichhore’ starring late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and actress Shraddha Kapoor has been honored as the best Hindi film. Sushant’s last film was ‘Chhichore’ which was released in cinemas. Director Nitesh Tiwari’s film was also loved by the audience. Hindi film ‘An Engineered Dream’ won the award for best non-feature film. It is directed by Hemant Gawa. Among the Special Mention Awards are four films ‘Bairiyani’, ‘Jona Ki Porba’ (Assamese), ‘Lata Bhagwan Kare’ (Marathi) and ‘Picaso’ (Marathi).
This year, a total of 461 feature films reached the national awards race. Thirteen states had participated in the 2019 ‘Most Film Friendly State’ category. Sikkim has won this race.
The Directorate of Film Festivals, under the auspices of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, distributes film awards at the national level every year. This is the 67th year of this year’s National Film Awards. It is against this backdrop that the names of the winners have been announced by the Center. All the films screened in the year 2019 will be honored in different categories at the awards ceremony. The award ceremony was expected to be held in May last year. However, this did not happen due to the risk of coronavirus infection.
The awards are presented by the President. However, at the 66th National Film Awards, the winners were presented with the award by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. After which a tea party was organized by the President for the winners.
