Interacting with India’s Olympic winners over breakfast on Monday, PM Modi highlighted the historic bond between South Korea and India, sharing how first lady Kim Jung-sook visited Ayodhya in 2018.
PM Modi told Park Tae-sung, ‘Ayodhya and South Korea have a special relationship. The first lady from South Korea had come to India to attend an event as a special guest. You must visit Ayodhya and you must know what the history is. You will feel proud.
According to a statement from the earlier PIB, Ayodhya and Korea have a deep historical connection through Princess Suriratna of Ayodhya, who traveled to Korea in 48 CE and married the Korean king Suro.
Kim Jong-suk attended the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Queen Huh Memorial in Ayodhya’s Queen Huh Park in November 2018. Furthermore, Coach Tae-sang told the PM that his wife was shocked to learn that he would be meeting the Prime Minister of India.
