Chandigarh, Jun 10 (PTI) Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has asked the state’s Additional Chief Secretary (Power) Anurag Agarwal to review the model of the School Education Department for rationalizing the additional staff of the department posted in parts of Punjab. .

The Chief Minister, while reviewing the working of the Power Department, asked Agrawal to implement a practical restructuring policy for rational deployment of its staff as per the need based on the manner in which a separate cadre was created for the teachers working in the border areas. instructed.

Singh also asked Agrawal to devise modalities for making fresh recruitment on zone basis for proper utilization of manpower in Punjab State Electricity Corporation Limited (PSPCL).

He also expressed concern over the outstanding electricity bills of Rs 2,142 crore on various departments. The Chief Minister directed the Principal Finance Secretary to increase the budgetary allocation to the concerned departments to help in making the payment in this regard immediately.

Singh also directed the PSPCL to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the farmers for eight hours during the current paddy sowing season.
