President Ram Nath Kovind visited the holy city of Ayodhya in a special train on Sunday morning. After spending the day in Ayodhya, the President returned to Lucknow by train in the evening. The train carrying the President started its journey from Lucknow’s historic Charbagh railway station at 09:39 am and reached Ayodhya station at 11:27 am. This was the President’s second visit by train. Earlier he had traveled to his hometown Kanpur Dehat in June.
Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandi Ben Patel, Minister of State for Railways Darshana Vikram Jardosh, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government, Mayor of Lucknow, MP and MLA, Chairman and CEO Railway Board Sunit Sharma, at Charbagh railway station. Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager, Northern Railway, Divisional Railway Manager Lucknow, S. Of. Sapra and other senior officials of state administration and railways were present.

Last month’s trip to Kanpur
The President was received by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and senior officials of Northern Railway on his arrival at Ayodhya railway station. The President returned to Lucknow by this train at 6.00 pm. Earlier in June last month, the President traveled by train from Delhi Safdarjung railway station to his hometown Kanpur Dehat.
A Northern Railway spokesperson said that like the previous visit of the President, this time also a special presidential train was prepared for him to go to Ayodhya. The saloon coach, which was used by the President for rail travel since independence, was decommissioned some time ago at the instance of the President himself as a lot of money and resources were being spent on its maintenance.
