New Delhi: President Ramnath Kovind may undergo bypass surgery at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi today. The president was admitted to the AIIMS in New Delhi last week after complaining of chest pain. A statement from the Rashtrapati Bhavan said, “The President is in stable condition and is currently under the care of an expert doctor.
President Ramnath Kovind had come to the military hospital last Friday for a medical check-up. He was shifted from the military hospital to AIIMS on March 27 due to chest pain. After the examination, the doctor had advised that he would have to go through the planned bypass procedure. If all goes well, the procedure can be done today, March 30.
President Ramnath Kovind is still active after visiting the hospital. They are doing all the work related to the office. After the President fell ill, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inquired about his condition during a two-day visit to Bangladesh and wished him a speedy recovery. In a tweet issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Modi said he had spoken to President Ramnath Kovind’s son. Inquired about his health and wished him a speedy recovery. President Ramnath Kovind had recently vaccinated against corona. The president had taken the first dose of the vaccine at an army hospital.
Delhi-related bill passed by hospital
The president continued his work even after he was admitted to the hospital. The Delhi government also approved the Lieutenant Governor’s Bill. Following the approval of the President, the National Capital Territories (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was published in the Gazette, the Central Government announced. According to the bill, the Delhi government will have to seek the opinion of the lieutenant governor for any type of government work. The bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on March 22 and in the Rajya Sabha on March 24.
