PoK election: AJK elections Live, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election Voting Violence: Violence during assembly elections in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir
During the assembly elections in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), activists of Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) indulged in violence. Two people died in this violence, while several workers of opposition parties were injured. Angered by the violence of the ruling party, the opposition candidate even talked about calling India. Targeting the Imran government, he said that India is good among itself, they at least do not indulge in electoral violence.
Polling is going on in 45 assembly seats of PoK
Today, the Pakistani government is conducting illegal voting in 45 assembly seats of PoK. The main contest in this election is believed to be between Imran Khan’s party PTI and Nawaz Sharif’s party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Bilawal Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). There are reports that on the strength of power and administration, the workers of Imran Khan’s party are trying to illegally capture many polling stations.
Nawaz’s party candidate talks of calling India
Ismail Gujjar, the candidate of Nawaz Sharif’s party, fed up with the excesses of the administration and the workers of Imran’s party during elections in PoK, called for India. Ismail, who is contesting LA 35 constituency, said that the government should stop violence Otherwise, the situation here will get worse. If this happens then people will die here. Two workers of Imran’s party killed
At least two PTI workers were killed in a clash with PPP workers at a polling booth in PoK’s Kotli district. Police said that two PTI workers were shot dead by unidentified persons at a polling booth under Nar police station area in Charhoi of Kotli. Muhammad Shabbir, an officer of the Nar police station, identified the dead as Zaheer Ahmed, 40, and Ramzan, 50, who were killed.
Police also attacked, 5 injured
In a separate incident, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) activists attacked Dhal Chakhya polling booth in LA-32 constituency of PoK, said Riyaz Mughal, SP of Jhelum Valley district. Five police constables were injured in the incident. Voting was also temporarily postponed at some polling stations in other constituencies due to incidents of violence. According to reports, several people were injured in the clashes and several political activists were also detained by the police.
