Peru will present reforestation projects at the COP26 climate summit | News

The Authority for Reconstruction with Changes (ARCC) indicated today that it will present reforestation projects in Peru, during the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, COP26.

These projects include the reforestation of more than 50,000 hectares in 17 hydrographic basins throughout nine regions of the country.

The ARCC will have two spaces at COP26, a summit held annually to address the fight against the climate crisis.

The executive director of the ARCC, Amalia Moreno, will be part of the panel “Design and planning of solutions based on nature to face climate change”, where she will present virtually together with the Vice Minister of Development of Family Agriculture and Agrarian Infrastructure and Riego, José Muro, on the diversity of nature-based solutions that will be applied in natural infrastructure projects.

Likewise, the ARCC will have a second intervention in the panel ¨Implementation of solutions based on nature as an adaptation measure to face climate change¨ where key topics of the summit such as adaptation, resilience and nature will be discussed.

In this panel, a short documentary entitled “Rebuilding Hope” will be presented, a film that details the constant progress of Reconstruction with Changes within the framework of the Government to Government Agreement with the United Kingdom.

Both presentations will take place tomorrow, November 4, in the United Nations Blue Zone of the United Kingdom Presidential Pavilion.

Regarding natural infrastructure projects, this November 17, the ARCC plans to hold the 14th Roadshow for the presentation of five natural infrastructure projects for 11 hydrographic basins in the regions of Tumbes, Lambayeque, Cajamarca, La Libertad, Áncash, Ica, Huancavelica and Lima.
