Peru Lee Arequipa Festival: Today there is a discussion about its literary production | News

With the talk “Approaches to Arequipa literature”, in which a historical account is made of the literary production of the Arequipa region and its characteristics, the Peru Lee Arequipa Festival begins today, presented by the Directorate of Book and Reading of the Ministry of Culture, which will run until tomorrow, Sunday, October 3, and which is broadcast in virtual mode on Facebook Live of Peru Lee and the ministry itself.

This first conversation has as main speakers the writers Fiorella Valencia Mena José Córdova.

Today’s cultural programming will continue with “The voice of women in Arequipa literature”, which seeks to highlight the participation of women in the literature of the region. This activity will be attended by the poet María Antonieta Tejada, the narrator Victoria Vargas and the researcher Martha Salas.

The Arequipa Lee Festival It consists of eleven activities aimed at the regional and national public, and has interpretation in Peruvian Sign Language for people with hearing disabilities.

For tomorrow, Sunday, October 3, the public will be able to connect to the table “Reading Clubs: Reading and sharing interpretations”, in which some spaces will be presented where readers from the region meet to expand their interpretations.

In addition, the didactic function of the Barro theater of the Gran Teatro Nacional will be transmitted, which diversifies the perspectives on the forms of reading.

The Ministry of Culture highlighted that the Peru Lee Arequipa Festival will bring together more than twenty-five prominent exhibitors from the region, who will share their experiences and knowledge related to the thematic axes of the event.

Sarko Medina, Sandra Linares, Gonzalo Ávila, Fiorella Valencia, Ruhuan Huarca, Mabel Cáceres, Jimmy Barrios, Johseline Perochena, among others will participate in this edition.

He recalled that since December 2020 this sector has been developing the Peru Lee Festivals in an itinerant way through the different regions of the country, with the aim of increasing citizen participation in activities related to the promotion of books and reading, within the framework of the Policy National Culture 2030.
