Pakistan says India honoring of Abhinandan Varthaman for imaginary feats of gallantry
- Pakistan expresses displeasure over the award of Vir Chakra to Abhinandan Varthaman
- Pakistan again refuses to accept the truth of Balakot airstrike
- Pakistan’s claim – Abhinandan did not shoot down our F-16
Pakistan has got a chill after the Indian Air Force’s Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman was awarded the Shaurya Chakra. Pakistan’s Foreign Office has reacted sharply to Abhinandan’s honour. Pakistan has categorically refused to accept the truth by spewing venom. Whereas, the whole world knows that in February 2019, Group Captain Abhinandan of India shot down Pakistan’s F-16 with his MiG-21 Bison fighter plane.
Pakistani Foreign Office refuses to accept the truth
The Pakistani Foreign Office has categorically refused to accept the truth even after almost two and a half years. The office said that Pakistan categorically rejects completely baseless Indian claims that a Pakistani F-16 aircraft was shot down by an Indian pilot before it was captured in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in February 2019.
Pakistan accuses India of ‘false claims’
Pakistan even claimed that US officials along with international experts had rejected the claim of shooting down the F-16 aircraft. In this statement, Pakistan even accused India of ‘lying’. Pakistan has said that awarding military honors for “fictional acts” of gallantry is against every standard of military conduct.
know the truth
In 2019, Abhinandan shot down an enemy F-16 fighter jet during an aerial conflict with Pakistan. During this, his MiG-21 Bison was hit by a missile, due to which he had to remain hostage in Pakistan for three days. Later, in view of India’s tough stand, Pakistan released Abhinandan under pressure from America.
Congratulations in Pakistani media
Pakistani newspaper Dawn wrote that Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Abhinandan Varthaman has been awarded the Vir Chakra. The Vir Chakra is the third highest wartime gallantry award after the Param Vir Chakra and the Maha Vir Chakra. Abhinandan has been given the honor for showing conspicuous courage during the shooting down of a Pakistani F-16 aircraft in February 2019. However, this claim of India was rejected by Pakistan. Not only this, it was rejected by the military, independent observers as well as the international media.
Abhinandan is now Group Captain
Abhinandan has now been promoted to the rank of Group Captain in the Indian Air Force. The rank of Group Captain is equivalent to that of Colonel in the Indian Army. He was part of 51 Squadron when Abhinandan shot down a Pakistani fighter plane. He was posted at Avintapura Air Base near Srinagar. Group Captain Abhinandan’s father father was also an officer in the Air Force and is now retired.
