Nokia is once again trying to include itself among the top companies in the market. Before 2009, there was no company in front of Nokia in the mobile phone market. But in 2009, the Taiwanese company HTC overtook the Finnish company. After this, Samsung ruled the mobile phone market, leaving HTC behind. There were many attempts to put Nokia back in the market, but only HMD was successful in this. Nokia is not currently among the top companies. But the latest financial report released by HMD Global is definitely giving hope.

According to the report of HMD Global, the net sales of HMD Global have decreased by 30 percent. The company sold 1.2 billion euros in 2020, compared to 1.7 billion in 2019. At the beginning of 2018, the company’s net sales were the highest with 2.4 billion euros.

HMD Global reported that the company had an operating loss of €188 million in 2018 and €295 million in 2019. This operating loss stood at 47 million euros in 2021.

According to media reports, the CEO of HMD Global has given a statement, ‘Nokia has benefited from June last year.’ However, this profit could be due to the company’s more profitable 4G feature phone. Obviously, Nokia is one of the few companies selling feature phones in emerging markets like India.

Apart from this, according to Counterpoint Research, between January and March 2020, Nokia made 1.7 million units available in the market. At the same time, from October to the end of December, Nokia had made available about 2.8 million smartphones. The company had registered a growth of 35 per cent as compared to the previous quarter. In this regard, HMD Global said in 2020 that Nokia delivered 55 million phones.

Let us tell you that some time back, the company had announced the adoption of a new naming method for Nokia smartphones. After this the company launched Nokia X, G and C series smartphones.

The Nokia X series promises to deliver the latest technology and a better experience. At the same time, the G-series will have popularized high-end technology. Talking about the C-series, the company will bring low-end models in this series. This phone will give pure Android experience.
