NHIA has issued new guidelines for reducing waiting time on toll points – nhia has issued new guidelines to reduce waiting time at toll points
The NHIA said in a statement on Wednesday that the new instructions would also ensure smooth flow of traffic for vehicles not queuing more than 100 meters at the toll plaza.
He said, “However, most of the toll plazas have no waiting time at all after the fastag has been made mandatory. If for some reason the queue of vehicles on the toll exceeds 100 meters, then in that case all the vehicles will be allowed to be given without toll till the queue of vehicles from the toll stop reaches back within 100 meters. ”
The NHIA said that a streak will be made with yellow color to detect a distance of 100 meters on all toll nacos. The move is meant to create another sense of accountability among toll plaza operators.
According to NHIA, it has successfully carried out 100 percent cashless tolling since mid-February 2021. The availability of FASTAG on the toll points of NHAI has reached 96 per cent in total and 99 per cent in many of them.
He said, “Keeping in mind the increasing toll collection through electronic means in the country, emphasis will be laid on the size and construction of toll plots during next ten years keeping in view the traffic estimates so that the toll collection system can be made efficient.” . ”
NHIA said that social distance has become a new rule due to Kovid-19. This is also being followed easily with the increased use of fastag, so that toll operators and vehicles do not come in contact with passengers.
