In the African country of Libya, the son of dictator Muammar al-Gaddafi has appeared in public for the first time. After Gaddafi’s death, his son Saif al-Islam al-Gaddafi had gone underground. Colonel Gaddafi’s full name was Muammar al-Gaddafi. He was born on 7 June 1942 in the city of Sirte, Libya. At the time of his birth, Libya was a colony of Italy. At that time Idris was undergoing treatment in Turkey. Gaddafi was then sworn in as the head of the armed forces and chairman of the Revolutionary Command Council.
King Idris was replaced by a new ruler
At the age of 27, he became the ruler of Libya. He took control of the whole country through the army. As soon as he took power, Gaddafi closed American and British military bases in Libya. His order was against the help received by the western army to King Idris. It also ordered that all foreign oil companies operating in Libya share a substantial part of the revenue with the country. Gaddafi replaced the Gregorian calendar with the Islamic calendar and banned the sale of alcohol throughout the country.
People of his own country killed Gaddafi
On 20 October 2011, Libyan authorities reported that Muammar Gaddafi had died in his hometown of Sirte. Preliminary reports said that he was killed with bullets. While others later claimed that he died in a NATO airstrike. A video was also released in which Gaddafi was surrounded by some fighters and he was stained with blood and dust. However, the veracity of this video has not been confirmed.
