Mines ministry submits report of 52 potential mineral blocks to states
The Mines Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that the approved report by the Geological Survey of India (GSI) regarding 52 potential G-4 mineral blocks has been submitted to 15 states. This report was submitted to the state governments on Tuesday during the National Mineral and Mines Seminar organized in the capital Delhi.
According to the statement, Madhya Pradesh (eight), Chhattisgarh (six), Karnataka (seven), Maharashtra (six), Odisha (five), Rajasthan (five), Jharkhand (five), Gujarat (two), Tamil Nadu (two) and Reports regarding mineral blocks have been submitted to Tamil Nadu (one).
Apart from these, Bihar, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh have also been apprised about one mineral block each.
It has been revealed from the survey of GSI that these mineral blocks located in these states have deposits of many types of precious metals and minerals. Their potential can be harnessed by mining them.
