men and women ratio in india: men and women ratio in india and nfhs survey updates: For the first time in the country, more women than men, know every update here

New Delhi
For the first time in the country’s population, the population of women has exceeded the population of men. This is great news for the country which has once suffered the loss of Missing Women. Not only this, the fertility rate has also come down in the country. According to the National Family and Health Survey, the population of females in the country now stands at 1,020 against 1,000 males.

Such an increase in the population of women
Nobel Prize winning economist Amartya Sen used the term ‘missing women’ in an article in 1990 for the low population of women in India. But gradually things have changed in India and now the population of women in the country has exceeded that of men. The ratio of females to males per thousand in India during the 1990s was 927. In 2005-06 this figure came down to 1000-1000. However, in 2015-16, it had come down to 991 per thousand males, but this time the figure has reached 1000-1,020.

Now a woman has only 2 children
Another big thing has come out in the survey. A decrease in the total fertility rate or the number of children per woman has been recorded. According to the survey, on an average, a woman now has only two children, which is less than the international standards. It is believed that India has reached the peak in terms of population. However, it will be confirmed only after the new census.

Fertility rate decreased, population will decrease?
The Union Health Ministry has released the NFHS figures on Wednesday. The effect of decreasing fertility rate will be seen in the decrease in the population of the country, it will be known only in the next National Census. According to the NFHS fifth round survey, the life expectancy for men during 2010-14 is 66.4 years while that of women is 69.6 years.

There is no shortage of desire for the boy!
It has been said in the survey that the gender ratio at birth of children is still 929. That is, the desire of the boy is still visible among the people. The number of girls per thousand newborn births is only 929. However, after strictures, there has been a decrease in gender determination and there is a decrease in feticide. On the other hand, women are living longer than men.

The NFHS-5 survey was done like this
The NFHS survey was conducted in two phases in 2019 and 2021. This survey was conducted in 6,50,000 houses in 707 districts of the country. The Phase II survey was conducted in states and union territories like Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Odisha, Puducherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
