Mumbai: Former Commissioner of Police, Mumbai Parambir SinghA petition has been filed in the High Court seeking an inquiry by the CBI into the allegations made against the state Home Minister. The petition is likely to be heard today. In the petition, Parambir Singh has demanded a CBI inquiry into the home minister.

The High Court had struck down
Parambir’s plea was heard on March 31 by the Bombay High Court. The High Court had also dealt with the police administration along with the state government and other petitioners. The Center, while explaining its position, had told the court that it was ready to investigate the matter. Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh had said that the court should now order the CBI or the ED to conduct the inquiry.

The High Court had said that your officers told you orally but you have no evidence. As the Mumbai Police Commissioner, it was your responsibility to file a case in this regard. The court had said that even if your superiors are breaking the law, it is your responsibility to file a complaint.

The state government will probe Parambir Singh’s allegations
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Parambir Singh has leveled several serious allegations against Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. The Thackeray government had taken an important decision to investigate these allegations. A committee headed by former Justice Kailash Chandiwal has been constituted to probe the allegations. The committee will report on the matter in six months.
