Liverpool Blast Latest News: Investigation has revealed that 32-year-old Imad Al-Swealmeen, the man who exploded inside the taxi at Liverpool hospital, was once arrested with a knife.
The man who exploded the taxi outside the hospital in Liverpool has been identified. Imad Jameel al-Sweelmeen, 32, blew himself up inside the car. Investigations so far suggest that Imad converted to Christianity 8 years ago when he came to the UK from the Middle East. Through the deed, he changed his name to Enzo Almeni. According to British media reports, he did this with the intention of making himself appear more ‘Western’ and ‘less Muslim’ in the application of Asylum.
Imad’s mother was from Iraq and according to reports, she was brought up in Dubai. It is also claimed that Imad told his friends that he had come from Syria. However, he has been confirmed to be a citizen of Jordan.
Asylum wanted in UK
The Daily Mail spoke to Christian volunteers who kept Imad with them when they arrived in the UK. Malcolm Hitchcott and his wife told the newspaper: ‘He came to the cathedral in August 2015 and wanted to convert. He took the alpha course and completed it in November. He then converted from Islam to Christianity and was confirmed as a Christian by March 2017. He was destitute at that time and we gave him shelter. Several pictures of the suspect are available on Hitchcott’s Facebook page.
The people of UK Asylum never believed he was from Syria and refused to give Asylum in 2014. His case was dismissed because he was banned due to some mental health incident. Somewhere he showed the knife to the people passing by. He said that he never talked about Islam, terrorism.
Bomb made inside the cab
Suspected terrorist was killed and driver David Perry was injured in the blast inside the cab. Perry, sensing Imad’s intentions, had locked the car so that the rest of the people would not be harmed. The motive of Imad is not clear yet, but it is believed that he took this step due to the denial of Asylum. So far four people have been arrested. Which was the bomb which was made inside the taxi on the spot. A ball-bearing device was used to make the bomb. The entire incident has been captured in the CCTV footage.

If the taxi driver had not locked the car, many lives would have been in danger. Imad explodes outside Women’s Hospital in Liverpool. Women and newborns are admitted to the hospital. When Imad saw that he could not get out of the cab, he detonated the device inside. 43-year-old David Perry can be seen jumping off the car a few seconds later. After a few hours in the hospital, he is now recovering at home.

Police have declared the incident outside the Women’s Hospital in Liverpool as a terrorist incident. Intelligence agency ‘MI 5’ is also looking into the matter. Anti-terrorist police chief Russ Jackson said the passenger of the taxi appeared to have made an ‘IED’ which exploded. Police had earlier detained three suspects. Jackson said a fourth suspect had also been arrested.
