Justice NV Ramana Next CJI: Justice NV Ramana, next Chief Justice of the country, approved by the President
New Delhi: & nbsp; Justice Nathalapati Venkat alias NV Ramana has been named as the next Chief Justice of India. Incumbent Chief Justice Sharad Bobade had on March 24 recommended Ramana’s name. His name has now been approved by the President. Justice NV Ramana is the second most senior Justice of the Supreme Court after Chief Justice Sharad Bobade.
Justice NV Ramana will be sworn in as the 48th Chief Justice of the country on April 24. NV Ramana was born in Ponnavaram village in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. NV Ramana, a soft-spoken person, started his practice in 1983. He has served as Additional Permanent Advocate for the Central Government as well as Permanent Advocate for Railways in the Central Administrative Authority. & nbsp; He became a Judge of the Permanent Court of Andhra Pradesh in 2000. & nbsp;
NV Ramana participated in many national and international conferences, published his research papers in many places. & nbsp;
He was appointed Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. NV Ramana started his career as a Justice in the Supreme Court in 2014. In the last few years, NV Ramana has decided many important cases. That included the decision to restore internet facilities to Jammu and Kashmir. The decision to bring the Chief Justice’s office under the Right to Information Act was taken up by a bench comprising NV Ramana. & Nbsp;
