jofra archer elbow surgery: jofra archer undergoes elbow surgery assessment on return to training after one month; Jofra Archer had elbow surgery, decided to return to practice after one month
England fast bowler Joffra Archer has undergone surgery to relieve the injury to the right-handed elbow for a long time. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) gave this information on Wednesday but did not say anything clearly about his return. Archer made a comeback on the tour of India but his injury began to bother him again before the Indian Premier League. He then underwent hand surgery in March.
He said, ‘Archer will now begin a rehabilitation period, working with the ECB and Sussex’s medical teams. His progress will be reviewed by his doctor in about four weeks. After that he will be told when he can return to bowling. England will hope that Archer will recover fully to play a key role in the T20 World Cup and the Ashes in Australia later this year.
Archer has been troubled by the elbow problem over and over again for the past one year. Due to this injury, he was ruled out of several matches during the tour of South Africa in 2020 and India earlier this year. He faced this problem again after landing in the county match for Sussex in the past, after which doctors decided to undergo surgery.
