According to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), a total of 148 sportspersons from various sports, including those who have qualified for the Tokyo Olympics, have been given the first vaccine of Kovid-19. IOA President Narinder Batra said that out of these 148 players, 17 are those who have been vaccinated while 131 players are yet to get their first vaccine.
These 148 players also include players who can make it to the Tokyo Olympic Games starting on 23 July. In addition, Kovid’s first vaccine has also been given to 13 players participating in the Tokyo Paralympic Games. Apart from this, two players have been given both vaccinations. The Tokyo Paralympic Games begin on August 24.

Thus, by May 20, 163 players (including Paralympics) have got at least the first vaccine. Batra, while giving information about the vaccination of the players and officials going to Tokyo, said that till May 20, 87 officers have given the first vaccine of Kovid-19 while 23 officials have been given both vaccinations.
So far, 90 Indian players have qualified for the Tokyo Olympics in various sports. The Tokyo Games was postponed for a year due to Kovid-19.
Meanwhile, the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) said that the shooters participating in the Olympics will be vaccinated in Croatia as they have to travel from there to Tokyo. Indian shooters are currently practicing in Croatia.
Some of these were vaccinated before their departure from India and the second vaccine would be vaccinated in Croatia.
Swordsman Bhavani Devi is currently practicing in Italy and was given the first vaccine there, while weightlifter Mirabai Chanu is likely to receive the first vaccine in the US.
