New Delhi, Sep 13 (PTI) IT major Infosys and Microsoft have inked a multi-year strategic agreement with Australian power distributor OsGrid to accelerate cloud transformation.

Cloud transformation means moving towards cloud computing solutions. Cloud computing is a system whereby companies can access services such as storage or development platforms through off-site data centers connected to the Internet.

Infosys said in a regulatory filing on Monday that the program will advance OsGrid’s vision of connecting communities and empowering lives, with a focus on affordability, reliability and sustainability.

Nick Crowe, Acting Chief Information Officer (CIO) of OsGrid, said: “With more than 4 million Australians relying on our services every day, it is imperative that we maintain our high standards of reliability and connectivity, as well as the support of Australian communities. meet expectations.”

Accelerating the growth of cloud solutions in partnership with Infosys and Microsoft will help OsGrid to improve network reliability, bring new services to market in a speedy and cost-effective manner, he said.

Anand Swaminathan, Executive Vice President and Global Industry Leader (Communications, Media and Technology), Infosys, said this collaboration with OsGrid will allow the company to leverage Infosys’ utility industry expertise.
