India vs England fifth test: Frustrated for fans, Anderson says series should have been ended in a better manners, says disappointed james anderson
Legendary England pacer James Anderson is ‘disappointed’ that the fifth Test against India at his home ground Old Trafford was called off, leading to a premature end to the thrilling series.
Anderson said that the series should have ended better. The players of the team were mentally unprepared to take the field after the assistant physio of the Indian camp was infected with the corona virus. In the subsequent investigation, however, the reports of all the players came negative.
The 39-year-old bowler is also worried about whether he will get to play another Test match at his home ground (Old Trafford).
Anderson wrote on his Instagram page, ‘I am disappointed for everyone in Lancashire Cricket plus fans paying for tickets/trains/hotels to see the true end of this series.’
“I hope it gets played again at some point,” he said. I hope I get to play another international match at my home ground, which I am very fond of.
Indian cricketers, led by skipper Virat Kohli, refused to play as they feared that they would have to remain in isolation in England for 10 days if they tested positive for COVID-19. A day after the cancellation of the Test match, Indian cricketers left for Dubai for the Indian Premier League. Anderson has taken 632 wickets in 166 Tests. He has taken 15 wickets in four matches of this series.
