Jhajjarkotli Police of Jammu district has recovered a huge consignment of heroin. The recovered heroin is said to be in the range of 50 to 52 kg. The truck driver, who was carrying goods from Kashmir to Punjab and Haryana, has also been arrested. Sources say that a small vehicle is suspected to have fled the spot. Search is on for him too. Senior police officers have reached the spot, who are engaged in investigating the matter. As of now, it has been learned that the goods were loaded from Kashmir. This is the biggest consignment of heroin seized by the police this year.

According to the information, the police had received information on Thursday morning that a large consignment of drugs was coming from Kashmir in a truck. Acting on the information, the team led by ADGP Jammu Mukesh Singh and SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli put up a naka in the Suketar area of ​​Jhajjarkotli. The checking of vehicles was started at the naka. During the investigation, a Haryana number truck was intercepted, which had come from Kashmir loading the goods. When the search for him started, he started to come. Due to which the police personnel got suspicious. When he was thoroughly searched, heroin was found in him. After which the driver was apprehended.

During a thorough search of the truck, a huge consignment of heroin, which was kept hidden, was recovered. Sources say that a total of 52 packets have been recovered. Which is yet to be weighed. It is believed that this consignment of heroin is between 50-52 kg. Sources said that when the goods were recovered, a small vehicle managed to escape from the spot. After which the nakas of the entire district were tightened.

It is being told that there may be smugglers in it, who were walking in front of the truck. The goods may be theirs. Confirming the recovery of the goods, the police officials said that investigation is going on now. One person has been arrested so far. He has been identified as Bhagat Kumar resident of Punjab, who is the driver of the truck.

Let us inform that in Baramulla this year also ten people were arrested with 11 packets of heroin. Six kg heroin has also been recovered at Tangdhar border. The ANTF team also arrested three people, including an ex-serviceman, with two kg of heroin in Akhnoor this year. Last year, 62 kg of heroin has been recovered from the IB of Jammu.
