Gujarat Chief Minister invites industrialists for investor conference

Ahmedabad, Nov 25 (PTI) Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has invited prominent industrialists to participate in the 10th ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ summit to be held after a gap of two years.

Patel had come to Delhi on Thursday to participate in the preparations for the conference being organized to attract investors. Speaking at an event in Delhi, Patel said leading businessmen should attend this investor’s meet.

Inviting industrialists for the summit, Patel said that strong infrastructure, friendly policies and ease of doing business along with talent, technology and transparency make Gujarat the most preferred investment destination in the country, according to a Gujarat government release.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this three-day summit. The conference will be held in Gandhinagar from January 10 to 12 next year. The theme of the conference is ‘Self-reliant Gujarat to self-reliant India’.

Patel said that Gujarat has become a preferred investment destination for entrepreneurs across the world. “The state attracted FDI (foreign direct investment) of $21.9 billion in the year 2021.”

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also informed about the major infrastructure projects of the state like Dholera Special Investment Zone, a separate corridor being built for freight, GIFT City.

Some of the prominent industrialists who participated in the event included Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Maruti Suzuki India Limited and Deepak Shetty, Managing Director and CEO, JCB India.

After the program, Patel met the Prime Minister and apprised him of the ongoing preparations for the conference, the release said.
