Greater Noida authority imposes fine of rs 2020 lakh on two telecom service providers

Noida, Sep 12 (PTI) The Greater Noida Authority has slapped a fine of Rs 20 lakh each on Airtel’s local vendor and Jio Digital Company, and immediately banned these companies from laying lines.

The authority has taken this action against both the companies for not repairing and damaging the roads for laying the optical fiber line. Residents were facing a lot of trouble due to broken roads due to which they were repeatedly complaining to the authority.

In order to further improve the mobile and broadband network in Greater Noida, the optical fiber line is being laid by Airtel and Jio Digital Company. Jio Digital Fiber Pvt. Ltd. The Noida company was laying fiber lines in Sectors Beta One and Two.

The line was being laid near the road by the company, due to which the road got damaged. Due to this other services provided by the authority were also affected. The company was not repairing the road despite people complaining to the authority.

Similarly, Airtel’s vendor M/s Telesonic Network Limited was also laying lines in Sectors Beta One and Two, due to which the road got damaged.

In a statement, the authority said that on the instructions of its CEO Narendra Bhushan, the commercial department imposed a fine of Rs 20 lakh each on both the companies.
