Gold fell by Rs 259, silver by Rs 110

New Delhi, Jun 10 (PTI) Gold prices on Thursday fell by Rs 259 to Rs 48,127 per 10 grams in the Delhi bullion market due to a weak trend in the precious metals globally. HDFC Securities has given this information.

In the last trading session, gold had closed at Rs 48,386 per 10 grams.

Similarly, silver also declined by Rs 110 to Rs 70,274 per kg. In the previous session, the closing price of silver was Rs 70,384 per kg.

In the international market, gold was trading lower at USD 1,880 an ounce while silver remained stable at USD 27.65 an ounce.

HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodities) Tapan Patel said, “The fall in gold prices at New York Commodity Exchange (COMEX) led to a fall of Rs 259 in 24-carat gold in Delhi.”

Navneet Damani, Vice-Chairman, Commodity Research, Motilal Oswal Financial Services, said, “After a steady trade in gold in the last few trading sessions, the yellow metal has declined. Gold has also registered a fall due to the strengthening of the dollar.

He said investors are waiting for US data to come out and a clear indication of inflation levels and economic growth ahead of the European Central Bank meeting.
