Union Finance Minister Sitharaman had announced in the budget that import duty on electronics products would be increased by 2.5 per cent. These include devices such as mobile chargers, mobile ports, adapters, batteries and headphones. The import duty is currently 7.5 per cent but will be increased to 10 per cent from April 1. With the increase in import duty, you will have to spend more on gadgets other than smartphones.
