San Jose (US), May 28 (AP) Authorities have identified eight people killed in a shootout at a California rail yard.

Eight people were killed in a shootout on Wednesday by a railwayyard employee. The employee then committed suicide.

The firing took place in two buildings of the ‘Valley Transport Authority’ (VTA) at around 6.30 am on Wednesday.

The age of the deceased is between 29 years and 63 years. The coroner’s office in Santa Clara County has identified the dead as Paul Megia, Tapatejadeep Singh, Adrian Balleja, Jose Hernandez, Timothy Romo, Michael Rudometkin, Abdolwahab Alghmonden and Lars Lane.

Earlier law enforcement officials said the attacker has been identified as 57-year-old Mon Cassidy.

Cassidy’s ex-wife Cecilia Nelmes said that Cassidy told her that he wanted to kill the workers at the workplace.

Cassidy said, “I never trusted him.”
