Expo 2020 Dubai: 150 SMEs from 25 regions of Peru will offer products | News

The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperú) indicated today that 150 Peruvian SMEs will be part of the delegation that will travel to Dubai to be part of the Expo Peru Dubai commercial platform.

The commercial activity will take place on January 19 and 20, 2022 within the framework of the Peruvian presentation at Expo 2020 Dubai.

To achieve this objective, Promperú will carry out the “Exporting to the Arab Market Program”, a strategy developed to train Peruvian entrepreneurs who will participate in the business roundtable and commercial meetings organized within the framework of Expo 2020 Dubai.

The training programs will be divided into four (4) modules: the first three aimed at the Peruvian delegation, made up of 150 SMEs, which will travel to Dubai to be part of the commercial platform.

And, the fourth module to regional companies interested in the Arab market and with export potential for the following years. For registrations click here.

Likewise, the workshops and trainings will revolve around topics of interest to the export segment such as business protocols, export management, market access requirements for the line of food and handicrafts, business opportunities, preparation to participate in wheels of business, e-commerce in the Arab market and sustainable trade.

It should be noted that the Peruvian presentation in the framework of Expo 2020 Dubai will take place until March 31, 2022, and includes the best of tourism and gastronomy, as well as the best cultural and product samples from the various regions of our country. , in a prominent national pavilion.

Peruvian exports to the United Arab Emirates (UAE)

In 2021, around 265 Peruvian companies exported mineral products (gold, zinc) to the Emirati market, superfoods (quinoa), fresh fruits (tangerines, mangoes, blueberries, grapes, avocados), beans, and textiles (fine hair yarns) equivalent at an amount of 613 million dollars.

The regions that export to the UAE are Ancash, Apurímac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Callao, Cusco, Huancavelica, Ica, Junín, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Lima, Madre de Dios, Piura and Puno.
