After spending the night on the tree, the next day he reached a nearby forest, hoping that he might find a way to the human population. Praveen says, “Anurag kept walking in the forest all day but could not find the way. In such a situation, he had to spend the second night in the forest itself.

Police saw smoke rising from the forest
Praveen Rawat is in charge of Saptarishi Chowki at Haridwar. Anurag started walking the next day on Saturday and reached the edge of the forest located on the other side from Shadani Ghat in Haridwar. He lit the fire again to keep himself warm and also hoped that seeing the smoke from it might reach him for help. This time he was lucky and the police saw smoke from the fire.

Rawat said, ‘We went to the area from where the smoke was rising in the boat. Then Anurag was seen asking us for help while waving hands. Praveen Rawat alerted the water police which patrols the river Ganga in the area. Praveen Rawat told, ‘When the water police reached him, he was trembling and hungry. We gave them a change of clothes and provided food. After this he narrated his ordeal. According to the police, Anurag was shaken by the incident that happened to him but was safe. He was sent back to his house at Nagal Soti village in Bijnor.
