“From Friday the 5th to Wednesday the 10th of November we will vaccinate adolescents between the ages of 12 and 14,” explained Gabriela Jiménez, director of immunizations at the Minsa, to add that the sector has enough stock to start this long-awaited process. parents.

Let us remember that the target population to protect against covid-19 in the country amounts to 28 million 24 thousand people, including adolescents from 12 to 14 years old, considered until now the last population group to protect against said infection.

Adolescents 15 to 17

On the other hand, Jiménez reminded the public that the vaccination of adolescents aged 15 to 17 years began on October 30, as announced by the Minister of Health, Hernando Cevallos.

“From that date until Thursday, November 4, adolescents between the ages of 17 and 15 will be vaccinated,” he explained, and then added that the programming of all minors is already listed on the portal Put the shoulder, according to the pattern provided by the Reniec.

Those who have to get vaccinated on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday in November and could not do it on time will be able to do so at the vaccination festivities that take place on weekends in various parts of the capital.

The director of Immunizations of Minsa explained that the national goal of vaccinated in the group of 12 to 17 years is 3 million 600 thousand people and that to date they have already been immunized with the two doses to 219 thousand adolescents of those ages, all with defined comorbidities that advanced their protection.

“Of that total we have one million 100 thousand people in Metropolitan Lima and Callao. By dividing it into two groups, we have to serve about 470 thousand adolescents this week. Our goal per day, for this Saturday and Sunday, is to vaccinate 100,000 people from 15 to 17 years old ”.

He asked the parents to go motivated to the vaccination center, as well as to accompany the minors that day, since they must sign the informed consent that is required to start this procedure.

“This weekend, in addition to vaccinating adolescents, we need to do a family action. We need teens and their families vaccinated. Then we also invite you If someone has a vaccination pending, accompany the minor and thus close the vaccination gap. Everyone must come with a double mask and their ID ”.
