Concessioned highways register progress of more than 91% in kilometers built | News

The roads concessioned at the national level total more than 6,500 kilometers throughout the country and in July of this year there is an advance of 91.84% in kilometers built and 96.32% in kilometers intervened, reported the Supervisory Agency for Investment in Transportation Infrastructure of Public Use (Ositrán).

The regulatory body has supervised the construction of 1,959.47 kilometers in the road network concessions and the commissioning of more than 4,359.45 kilometers.

In the case of IIRSA North: Paita-Yurimaguas, As of last July, 200.7 kilometers of roads have been built and 806.4 kilometers have been intervened (set-up and initial maintenance), registering an advance of 100% of the total committed (1,007 kilometers), higher than the 955.1 kilometers stipulated in the contract for concession.

Likewise, Ositran reported, the road Buenos Aires-Canchaque records the construction of 55 kilometers of highways and 22 intervened kilometers, equivalent to a 100% progress of the total 76.9 kilometers committed in the concession contract.

In the way IIRSA South Section 5 56.3 kilometers of roads have been built and 798.4 kilometers have been intervened, registering 100% progress of the total of 854.7 kilometers stipulated in the concession contract.

In relation to Mocupe-Cayaltí-Oyotún Road Section, 32.6 kilometers of roads have been built and 14.1 kilometers have been intervened, with a level of progress of 100% of the total 46.8 kilometers committed in the concession contract.

While, IIRSA South Section 3 records the construction of 411.3 kilometers of highways, equivalent to an advance of 100.2% of the total committed (410.3 kilometers), higher than the 403.2 kilometers stipulated in the concession contract.

In respect of IIRSA Center Section 2 377 kilometers have been intervened (set-up and initial maintenance), registering an advance of 100% of the total of 377 kilometers stipulated in the concession contract.

Finally, IIRSA South Section 2 registers the construction of 246.4 kilometers of highways, with a level of progress of 100% of the total of 246.4 stipulated in the concession contract.

Supervision

Of the total kilometers of roads in the country, 26% are roads concessioned under the supervision of Ositrán and 74% are roads managed by Provías Nacional.

Ositrán is in charge of verifying that the concessionaires comply with providing the mandatory services to the users of the road network, supervising that the conditions of the concessioned roads are within the parameters established in the concession contract.

For this, the regulator measures the service levels and the international roughness index, whose values ​​to date are an average of 98%, being that the concession contract establishes a minimum threshold of 95% and in the case of roughness the average value is 2, the maximum threshold being 3, so 100% compliance can be affirmed.
