Cajamarca is preparing for the fourth supervaccination that will take place this Saturday, October 2 and Sunday, October 3 in 127 districts of the thirteen provinces that make up this region to immunize people over 18 years of age against COVID-19 with the first and second doses from Sinopharm laboratories. , Pfizer and Astra Zeneca.
Speaking to the Andean Agency, Portal said that according to the established goal 50% immunization has been achieved with the first dose and 30% with the second dose. “To reach herd immunity we need to reach 60% of the population vaccinated with the second dose.”
Although that figure has yet to be reached, the official reiterated that there is an important advance in the vaccination process and highlighted the response of young people over 18 years of age who come en masse in groups or with their families to receive the vaccine.
“People are aware of the importance of getting vaccinated, there is no longer a preference for a certain vaccine, they agree to the dose Sinopharm, Pfizer and Astra Zeneca which are highly effective vaccines that are applied in this region ”, he stressed.
By highlighting the supply of vaccines by the Ministry of Health, Portal thanked the efforts of the health personnel who remain in their positions in the fight against the covid 19 pandemic.

“Our molecular biology laboratory has the capacity to process 20,000 samples per month; therefore, we invoke the community that as soon as it presents symptoms of covid 19, go to be screened ”, he said.
The official indicated that in health establishments the sample will be taken through the nasopharyngeal swab procedure for molecular testing, which has a high degree of reliability in the diagnosis.
Since last August, Cajamarca registers a significant decrease in infections and deaths by coronavirus, according to the latest report from Diresa, with 92,687 infected, 2,900 deceased and 26 hospitalized.
