In Bihar, the process of nomination for the second phase is progressing rapidly regarding the Panchayat elections (Bihar Panchayat Chunav 2021). According to the State Election Commission (SEC), more than 25 thousand nomination papers have been filed till Thursday for the Panchayat elections to be held in 48 blocks of 34 districts. Of these, 25,868 candidates, including 12,868 women, have nominated. 341 nomination papers have been submitted online. The process of nomination for this phase is till September 13, voting will take place on September 29.

How many nominations for which post in the second phase
Of the total nomination papers filed till Thursday, 14,779 are for the post of Gram Panchayat member. According to the commission, 452 nominations have been filed for the post of Zilla Parishad member, 2,425 for Panchayat Samiti members and 2,512 for Mukhiya. In addition, 1,503 nomination papers were submitted for the post of Sarpanch of Gram Kachari and 4,197 for the post of Gram Kachari Panch.

Election Commission engaged in preparations for Panchayat elections
Out of 16,387 nomination papers filed for the first phase of polling, 16,237 have already been uploaded on the website of the State Election Commission. Similarly, 24,106 out of 25,868 nominations filed for Phase II have been uploaded on the SEC website. This time in Bhojpur district, more than 18 lakh voters will exercise their franchise during the Panchayat elections.

How many voters in Bhojpur district
According to the final voting list released by Bhojpur District Election Office, there are 9,74,066 male voters and 8,43,958 female voters in the district. Of these, 91 are third gender voters. With 1,94,723 voters, Barhra block tops the chart in the district. Gadhani block has the lowest number of 68,870 voters. Polling will be the first in Piro block.

Elections will be held in 11 phases, online nomination option
The process of voting for ‘Gaon ki Sarkar’ will be completed in 11 phases. In which the first phase of voting will be held on 24th September, while the last phase will be voted on 12th December. The State Election Commission has taken many necessary steps regarding the elections to be held during the Corona period. In this, the candidates have also been given the option of online application for filing nomination.
