BCR: construction sector grew 20.2% in July 2021 | News
The construction sector grew 20.2% in July compared to the same month in 2019 and 37.4% compared to July 2020, due to increased self-construction activity, as well as the resumption of private and public projects, the Central Reserve Bank indicated today (BCR).
Likewise, he pointed out that domestic cement consumption increased 17.4% compared to 2019, a rate higher than that observed in June, mainly due to the resumption of public and private works. Compared to 2020, this sector indicator grew 22.4%.
For its part, the progress of public works increased 32.5% in July compared to the same month of 2019 and 145.8% compared to July of last year.
Finally, the BCR indicated that in seasonally adjusted terms, removing all seasonal factors, the construction sector advanced 0.6% in July compared to the previous month and continued to be above the pre-pandemic level.
