The epicenter of the earthquake that struck Assam at 1.07 pm was 39 km west of Tezpur at a depth of 30 km from the ground. A day earlier, a tremor of 4.1 magnitude was felt right here in Sonitpur. The epicenter of the earthquake was 36 km northwest of Tezpur at a depth of 22 km from the ground.
Earlier, three aftershocks were felt in the northeast. An earthquake measuring 3 on the Richter scale in Manipur’s Chandel area at 1:6 am after midnight. Its epicenter was 39 km southeast of Moirang near the Myanmar border at a depth of 10 km from the ground.
After about an hour, a tremor of 4.1 magnitude was felt in Sonitpur, Assam at 2:4 am. The epicenter of the earthquake was 36 km northwest of Tezpur at a depth of 22 km from the ground. At the same time, the third tremor of 2.6 magnitude came in West Khasi Hills of Meghalaya at 4:20 am.
