Indian Taekwondo player Aruna Tanwar has got a wild card entry in the Tokyo Paralympics. She will become the first Indian Taekwondo player to participate. The father is happy at the daughter’s success, but his pain has also come to the fore. He hopes that the government will support Aruna and help her fulfill her dreams.

The father of Aruna, who was stunned by her daughter’s success, told ANI that Aruna’s journey so far has been completed by selling jewelry and borrowing money. He said- The coach and his hard work paid off. We have faced a lot of financial crunch but somehow I managed his expenses by selling jewelry or by borrowing money. I urge the government to help us and think about it.

Aruna is currently the world number four player in the women’s Under 49 category. Five-time national champion Aruna has won medals in the last four years at the Asian Para Taekwondo Championship and the World Para Taekwondo Championship. The Tokyo Paralympics will be played from August 24 to September 5.
