The scheme is also seen as part of the government’s efforts to reduce defense spending.

In the first recruitment process, the youth will be given six months training. The training period will also end in four years.

What is Agnipath retirement package?
In the year of appointment, each Agniveer will get 30 thousand monthly salary. Of this, 60 percent or 21,000 rupees will be given to him. The remaining 30 percent or nine thousand rupees will be deposited in Agnibir Corps Fund. The government will also keep the same amount in this fund. The salary of Agnibir will increase to 33 thousand in the second year, 36.5 thousand in the third year and 40 thousand in the fourth year.
In four years, his total savings will be about 5.02 lakh rupees. At the same time, the same amount of money will be deposited by the government. When the work is done, he will get this money with interest. The price will be around 11.71 lakh rupees. This amount will be tax free.
There is also provision for financial assistance in case of martyrdom or disability while on the job. If a firefighter dies while serving the country, more than one crore rupees will be paid along with interest and service fund. In addition, the rest of the job will be paid. If a soldier becomes disabled while on duty, he will be paid up to Tk 44 lakh and the rest will be paid. After four years of service, youth service fund package will be given. The price will be 11.71 lakh rupees.
Will army recruitment be stopped now after this scheme?
New schemes have been introduced to replace the existing open recruitment. Currently, in addition to general duties, there are open positions in positions such as clerk, store keeper, tradesman, and nursing assistant. The selected youths served in the army for about 18 and a half years. They also get pension at the end of the job. Now these posts will be filled for only four years. These firefighters will not get any pension. Upon completion of the service, they will receive only a single amount.
What will happen to Agniveer after four years of service?
After four years of service, 75 percent of soldiers will lose their service. A maximum of 25% will get place in regular cadre. For this you have to apply for regular cadre voluntarily after finishing the job.

What will happen to the soldiers who will resign after four years?
Retired soldiers will be given priority in the armed forces and other government jobs. During the press conference, the defense minister said that Agnibir, who has been working for four years, would be given priority in the upcoming job of several state and union ministries. After the announcement of the defense minister, such announcements have also started coming from the states. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Agnibir jawans will be given priority in recruitment in Madhya Pradesh police.
What will change for the soldiers joining the army after the new Agnipath Scheme?
The recruitment process for the new project will remain the same. Six months of rigorous training will be given after being selected. Will then be deployed.
