Elections will be held in five states and billions of people will exercise their voting right to strengthen democracy from home. Assembly elections will be held in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry. With the exception of Assam, the remaining four states have non-BJP governments. Of these five states, West Bengal is the most talked about. Meanwhile, ABP News along with C-Voter tracked the voter turnout in these five states.

Assembly elections will be held in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry. Polling will be held in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry in one phase on April 6. Bengal will hold elections in eight phases. Assam will go to the polls in three phases and the results of the five states will be declared on May 2.

The TMC, led by Mamata Banerjee, had earlier won 211 seats in West Bengal. This time TMC is claiming to be in power for the third time. The BJP, on the other hand, says that this time the people of Bengal are thinking of change. It is claiming that the BJP will win more than 200 seats. The Congress-Left Front and the ISF alliance are also demanding the formation of a government. Elections will be held in eight phases for a total of 294 seats in Bengal.

Next to TMC in West Bengal, but ..
In West Bengal, the TMC polled 44.9 per cent of the vote in 2016, which is expected to fall by 1.5 per cent to 43.4 per cent this time. This is benefiting the BJP. It is expected to rise to 38.4 per cent from 10.2 per cent last time, a gain of 28.2 per cent. The biggest losers are the Congress and the Left Front. Last time they got 37.9 per cent votes, this time it is estimated to get only 12.7 per cent votes. That means a loss of minus 25.2 percent. Last time, others got 7 per cent votes, but this time it is estimated to get only five and a half per cent votes, which is one and a half per cent less.

In West Bengal, the BJP seems to be battling the TMC, but the TMC seems to be coming to power. According to CVator’s open poll, TMC can get 150 to 166 seats. The BJP is expected to get 98 to 114 seats. The Congress and the Left can get 23 to 31 seats. So 3 to 5 seats can go to the account of others.
