15 Lakh Applicant For Peon Job in Pakistan: In Pakistan 15 lakh apply for peon post including those with mphil degree
A recent report has also exposed the dark reality of unemployment amidst Pakistan’s crumbling economy. The report of Pakistan Institute of Development Economies (PIDE) states that 24% of the educated people of the country do not have any job at present. Frustrating thing is that even people having degree like M.Phil are forced to apply for the job of peon.
According to the Dawn newspaper, PIDE reported that the unemployment rate in the country is at 16% and not at 6.5% as claimed by the government. The Planning and Development Committee was also informed that 40% of educated women are unemployed. It was even told that some people start doing M.Phil because they don’t get better job then they like to study further. That’s why they are not included in the unemployed but the truth is that they do not have a job.
The committee was also informed that at least 15 lakh people applied for the job of peons in the High Court and among them were M.Phil degree holders. At the same time, research on educated youth and children in the country has not been done at the government level but has been done abroad. There are many research institutes working in the country but they are not getting their benefit.
In the Economic Survey released in June this year, it was told that due to the epidemic of Kovid-19, jobs have been severely affected. Due to the lockdown, about 2 crore people lost their jobs. The report said that Pakistan is the fifth most populous country and has the 9th highest labor presence in the world.
